Charente Maratime
The hamlet of Les Epeaux de Meursac is made up of stone and rendered houses some of which date back to the 1400's. The population of Meursac is circa 2000. It is in a rural setting which if you like nature you will love. This is known as a twitcher's paradise with many birds of prey and owls. There are also tiny bats, swallows and lizards. It is a tranquil place yet is only a 20 minute drive away from beach resorts of Royan, Meschers and St George de Didonnes, and inland the roman town of 'Saintes'. It is in the vineyard area of Bordeaux and also Cognac; and is known for its shellfish especially the oysters of Marennes and Oleron which are eaten all over France.
